Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Axipert LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the WinVision website (winvision.app), the WinVision desktop application, and the WinVision AR client. We believe in being straightforward about what data we collect and why.

1. What We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Bug Reports: When you submit a bug report through our website, we collect the title, category, description, and operating system information you enter. You may optionally provide an email address for follow-up and attach a log file.
  • Log Uploads: The desktop application can send diagnostic log files to our website to pre-fill a bug report. These logs are held in server memory for 15 minutes and are never saved to disk.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Analytics (Microsoft Clarity): We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity may collect information such as pages visited, mouse movements, clicks, and scroll behavior. Clarity does not collect personal information such as your name or email from browsing alone. For more details, see Microsoft Clarity's privacy disclosure.
  • IP Address: Your IP address is used for rate limiting (to prevent abuse of the bug report form) and is sent to Cloudflare as part of CAPTCHA verification. We do not store IP addresses beyond the current server session.
  • Platform Detection: On the Downloads page, we detect your operating system and architecture from your browser's User-Agent string to suggest the right download. This information is not stored.

Information the Desktop Application Handles

  • Screen Capture: WinVision captures your screen and encodes it as H.264 video. This data stays on your local network — it is streamed directly from your computer to connected viewers via peer-to-peer WebRTC. We never see, receive, or store your screen content.
  • Audio Capture: If enabled, system audio is captured and streamed alongside video. Like screen data, audio never leaves your local network.
  • Configuration: Your settings (display preferences, encoding options, network ports) are stored locally on your device in a user settings file. They are not sent to us.

Information the AR Client Handles

  • WebRTC Streaming: The AR client receives video and audio streams from the desktop application over your local network via peer-to-peer WebRTC. No data passes through our servers.
  • Device Sensors: The AR client may use head tracking and gesture input from your AR glasses hardware. This sensor data stays on the device and is not collected by us.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Bug reports and log files are used to identify and fix software issues.
  • Analytics data helps us improve the website's usability and content.
  • Rate limiting prevents abuse of our services.
  • CAPTCHA verification confirms that form submissions come from real people.

3. Where Your Data Goes

Bug Reports Are Public

When you submit a bug report, it is posted as a public issue on our GitHub repository. This means your report title, description, operating system, and any attached log file will be publicly visible. If you include your email address, it will also appear in the issue. Do not include sensitive information in bug reports.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services:

Service Purpose Data Shared
GitHub Bug report hosting Report content you submit
Microsoft Clarity Website analytics Browsing behavior, anonymized session data
Cloudflare Turnstile CAPTCHA / bot prevention IP address, browser challenge token
Google Fonts Typography Standard web request data (IP, User-Agent)
jsDelivr CDN CSS/JS library delivery Standard web request data (IP, User-Agent)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns about how they handle data.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses cookies set by third-party services (Microsoft Clarity, Cloudflare Turnstile) for analytics and security purposes. We do not set our own tracking cookies. The WinVision desktop application and AR client do not use cookies.

5. Data Retention

Data Retention
Uploaded log files 15 minutes (in-memory only, then automatically deleted)
Bug reports Indefinitely on GitHub (public issues)
Rate limit counters 1 hour (in-memory only)
Analytics data Per Microsoft Clarity's retention policy
Desktop app settings Stored locally on your device until you delete them

6. Children's Privacy

WinVision is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through a bug report, please contact us and we will remove it.

7. Security

WinVision's desktop application streams video and audio over encrypted WebRTC connections (DTLS-SRTP) on your local network. The website is served over HTTPS. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure.

8. Your Choices

  • Bug reports: Submitting a bug report is entirely voluntary. You can choose not to provide an email address or log file.
  • Analytics opt-out: You can block Microsoft Clarity by using a browser ad-blocker or disabling JavaScript for analytics domains.
  • Desktop app: All screen and audio capture happens locally. You control what is shared and who can connect by managing your network and the application's settings.
  • Removing a bug report: Since bug reports are posted as GitHub issues, you can request removal by contacting us or by commenting on the issue.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
